This package is ideal if you would like to:

Includes 40 hours of research, analysis and report preparation.

Presented as a professionally written, in-depth, fully evidenced genealogical report that explains the findings in a clear and engaging way. By considering location, occupations, and social position, your ancestors are thoughtfully placed within the historical context of their time. A digital family tree chart is also included.

Typical Report Length: 60+ pages, depending on the complexity of the research and number of family lines involved.

Research of your direct family line to Great-Grandparents (four generations), subject to the availability of historical records.

This package aims to identify and document your direct ancestors. As part of the package, a research report and a display-ready family tree chart. The report will explain the findings, evidence and family connections identified during the research.

Ideal those new to family history research or those who like to build upon existing family history knowledge

Please Note:

These packages are designed to achieve the stated research objective rather than provide a fixed number of research hours. Whilst every effort will be made to identify ancestors to the generations outlined above, genealogical research is dependent upon the survival and availability of historical records. Where additional research is required due to missing records, migration, overseas research, illegitimacy, name changes, or other complexities, recommendations will be provided and further research can be commissioned separately.

DNA Research Project Assessment

This package is ideal if you would like to:

Identify an unknown parent, grandparent, or ancestral line
Understand how your DNA matches connect to your family tree
Use DNA evidence alongside documentary research to solve a research problem
Break through a long-standing brick wall where records alone have not provided answers

If you are interested in genetic genealogy and DNA match analysis, I always recommend we begin with an initial assessment.

Genetic genealogy uses your DNA results from a database (such as Ancestry or MyHeritage) alongside traditional documentary research to answer questions that cannot be solved through records alone — such as identifying unknown ancestors, understanding how DNA matches connect to your family, or resolving long-standing uncertainties within a family line.

DNA and genetic genealogy projects are often more complex than traditional genealogy research. The time required can vary considerably depending on factors such as the size and quality of your match list, the number of interrelated families within your matches, the availability of trees, and how much documentary evidence exists to support the DNA findings.

For this reason, an assessment of available data and DNA matches within the database is recommended. Following this assessment, further research time can be arranged in agreed blocks or quoted as a bespoke project, depending on the scope and complexity of the work involved.

The Genetic Genealogy Investigation Package includes 15 research hours dedicated to the assessment of your DNA matches, including a review of shared match patterns, identification of match clusters, initial relationship hypotheses, and recommendations for how documentary research can be used to progress the investigation.

This assessment forms the foundation for a wider project, with the ultimate aim of producing a comprehensive, professionally written report that sets out the findings in a clear, structured way, with all terminology and DNA concepts carefully explained. The full report typically includes relationship hypotheses, working family trees for DNA match clusters, analysis of shared matches, and a detailed explanation of how the evidence supports the conclusions reached.
